Martin “Marty” Tanzer has been awarded Life Membership in recognition of his dedication and outstanding service to the RSL and what it stands for.
Described as a loyal, passionate person when it comes to the care and wellbeing of Veterans and their families, Marty is said to go above and beyond as Sale RSL Sub-Branch President.
Marty joined the Sale RSL Sub-Branch in 2012. He’s been a member of Committee, served as Vice President and has been President for the last four years.
He is credited with leading the Sale RSL into a financially stable position and oversees all aspects of running the commercial and business side of the Sub-Branch.
Marty has successfully applied for numerous grants from DVA, the State Government and Wellington Shire, allowing several projects to be completed, including a Memorial Wall and Afghan Memorial.
Marty has volunteered for the ANZAC and Poppy Appeals for the last eight years, and provides ongoing welfare support for veterans, including hospital and home visits, delivers food parcels and transports veterans or their family to medical appointments.
The elevation of a Service Member to Life Membership is an honour that is awarded to someone who has demonstrated outstanding service to the League.
