Experience and commitment were two important traits that RSL Victoria was looking for when it began its search for a new CEO in 2022. Many candidates applied, but one stood apart from the rest as the best candidate to lead the Victorian Branch of the RSL, Sue Cattermole, former group CEO of the St Vincent de Paul Society.

Addressing the appointment, RSL Victoria State President Dr Robert Webster OAM said "Appointing a new CEO is an undertaking that the State Executive and I have taken very seriously. We followed a rigorous recruitment process and are delighted to have Sue join RSL Victoria as a result. She stood out from the candidate pool as someone with the skills to lead our organisation and excel in CEO's dynamic and busy role."

"The State Executive and I are excited to work with Sue," Dr Webster said.

In an address given to RSL Victoria staff Sue Cattermole said, "I was excited to apply for the role because I have a strong alignment to the mission of RSL Victoria in its aspiration to provide the best possible support and services for all generations of veterans in Victoria."

Sue went on to say "I am an experienced CEO and Executive with a demonstrated track record in growing and transforming organisations. I look forward to working with my new team at RSL Victoria and our wider Sub-Branch network and membership."

Sue's first day as CEO will be July 4, 2022.
